Can VR Video be recorded with any panoramic camera?

I feel like maybe you’d need two different cameras to accommodate for the two slightly different viewing angles of your eyes in order to properly capture depth, but otherwise I’d think you can use regular 360 cameras

What would the limitations be to record VR video, or any video for that matter, with a light field camera? I feel like storage space might become a problem
