Are F-Number and F-Stop the same/interchangeable?

@kristinechen8 I interpreted it as the F-stops are the specifically fixed F-Numbers for camera lenses so that 1 stop increase equals double the exposure.

From my brief research, according to Wikipedia an f-stop is a specific f-number that the camera is traditionally adjusted to in discrete steps.
